Ronald's Story
After finishing at DCCC in 1971, I went to work for Gulf Oil Corp., as an operator on a Reformer Unit - I continued my education at Widener College, attaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics in 1976 while holding down a 40 hr work week in the Oil Refinery, I met my ex-wife, a Collingdale girl, the formeer Marsha Stalberg in a bowling league in 1976 after graduating for College. We became engaged in 1978 and were married in December 1978. We moved to Ridley Twp and we had three sons (Jonathan, Christopher, and Jeremy). Gulf Corp. was bought out by Chevron Corp. in 1984 and having risen through the ranks, I became a Supervisor in 1989 - eventually moving in the process to Upper Chi-Chester area - Chevron Corp. made it clear to all it's employees that it was a west coast corporation and did not really want assets on the east coast, so in 1994 they sold the plant to Sunoco Inc. where I remained a Supervisor in Sunoco's Philadelphia Refinery until I acccepted a retirement package in April of 2010. My favorite past-time is golfing year around as weather permits, and bowling. I take care of my brother John, who became disabled in 1979 and eventually became the ward of my parents. When our father died in 1999, John became my ward

w weeks of fun in the outdoors.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a cup of coffee, a cigarette, and proper frame of mind to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My hero's were my parents. They taught me the difference of right from wrong. They instilled in me a good work ethic, and the belief that what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger (Long before the (Arnold) as CONAN said it in a movie)
I am an avid fan of the golf channel and I can watch golf all day long. The only thing better athan watching is getting out and playing a round myself. I'm also a BIG Phillies and Eagles fan and like most fans in our area, I live and die on their successes and failures. I love dogs and dislike cats (wouldn't have one if you paid me).
If I won $100 million, I'd give a portion of it to my favorite charities, then spend the rest on my sons, Cheryl my lady friend and family members.
My current age is 61. When I was 12, I thought that people over 30 were over the hill and out of touch. I was so completely surprised that so much of that little boy still is alive in me at this age. I guess the old addage that the only difference between being a child and an old man is the price of the toys. .
My first job was at Laray Display, where I got paid .75 / Hr. to repair and sand manikens. What I remember most about it is how dusty and dirty the work was.
