Ronald's Story
Life
I left Cathedral High, moved from downtown L.A. to the valley and attended W. H. Taft High (where I was awarded the scholarship to Chuinard Art Institute) and then Grover Cleveland High where I graduated. Did a brief stint in the Navy, got married to a Cleveland graduate of 1963 (Wendy Kaufman). Worked for L. A. Dept. of Water and Power for 11 years, sold everything, had a son, bought a 64' sailboat, cruised the South Pacific for 3 years - boat sank in Western Fiji - came home, sold a house, started an import business and a cocktail lounge in Western Samoa. Came back to the U.S. in 1980 when my marriage ended. Kept my son with me - was a single father for a while. Started a contracting business in San Francisco doing Victoria...Expand for more
n restorations and rennovations. Moved back to L.A. in 1982. Worked in the custom boat systems installation business until 1984 - got married second time. Went to work for Northrop Electronics Corporation in Hawthorne, Ca. Job and marriage lasted until 1989. Moved to Kingman Arizona in 1990 - resumed studies in pottery at the community college (finally got a chance to resume my love affair with art and pottery) - met my current wife, Gwen (also a potter). She and I both teach pottery at Mohave Community College in Bulhead City, AZ. We have been teaching for 5 years now. Otherwise we are retired. My son, Dustin is on the verge of presenting me with my first grandchild.
