Ronald's Story

College I attended undergraduate school at West Liberty State College near Wheeling, W. Va. from Jan., 1967 until Aug., 1970. I then entered the West Virginia University College of Law in Aug., 1970 and graduated in May, 1973. I have been practicing law in Wheeling, West Virginia since 1973. Workplace I have been practicing law in Wheeling, West Virginia since May,1973. Military I joined the Marine Corps in Sept., 1962. Following Boot Camp at Parris Island and ITR training at Camp LeJeune, N. C., I was stationed at 29 Palms, Calif. from April, 1963 to Sept., 1965. While there I worked at the Officers' Club with some great guys--Leo Morrissey, Mike Benge, Ken Pallaske,Sgt....Expand for more
Walker, Sgt Friddle,Ramsey, Rouse,Ferenz, Loper, Calnan, Richards, Irwin (and his Hermits--Benge,johnson,Pitchford,Rousso and Pallaske) and many others. Sadly, I later learned that Sgt. Friddle was killed in Vietnam in 1966 and I later saw his name on The Wall in D. C. in 2004 during a reunion of G 2/5. In Sept., 1966 I was transferred to 1st Platoon, Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines and shipped out for Vietnam in Jan., 1966 and served with G 2/5 in Chu Lai. Returned to El Toro, Calif. in Aug., 1966 for processing for discharge. Many of the guys I served with made contact with each other about 4 years ago and we e-mail each other daily and have gotten together 3 times.
