After serving in this position for four years I was offered the position of Chief Deputy Clerk and later became Clerk, of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Detroit. At this point I became an officer in the United States Naval Reserve while continuing to serve in my civilian capacities. I founded and continued to practice law in the firm of MELLISH and Associates, PLLC. MELLISH and Associates, PLLC represented major insurance companies throughout the U.S. in arson, fraud and subrogation cases. After 23 years of continued success I retired.
