Ronald's Story
To all my classmate friends. Something you should all think about, especially those of you with grandchildren. Yesterday, I went back to my old neighborhood, BRIGHTON BEACH, BROOKLYN, NY. For those of you who were born and raised there, I urge all of you to go back right now. YOU WILL NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR OLD DAYS OF HAPPINESS. Brighton is in the midst of a major revitalization, All the little houses we used to know, where our friends and relatives lived, are DISAPPEARING. LARGE, TALL SKYSCRAPERS are taking over the neighborhood. Most, if not all, of the stores from our childhood no longer exist. It is like a member of the family has died.
So, with that said, think about where you grew up, those memories, good or bad, are what made you today. Go back to you the place that gave you your foundation and made you what you are today. Bring your children and grandchildren. Let them see where you came from. Tell them the stories of you growing up, the...Expand for more
good and the bad.
Give them the history of your life, your family and your friends. Let them know that you too were a real child and what YOU HAD AND WHERE YOU WENT. Let them know the days were the real TV and radio came from. Let them know of the days where PEOPLE ACTUALLY SPOKE TO EACH OTHER IN PERSON, NOT ON A "SMART" PHONE. Give your children and grandchildren something to pass on to the future generations just like my parents and grand parents gave me.
Happy Holidays and a Healthy New Year to all of you.
