Roni's Story
Life
Married (for almost 20 years as if there is such a thing anymore) and yes, to the same man, the entire time. We have three amazing kids - Kara is 18, just graduated highschool with a whack of awards and is off to University in the fall; Kayne is 16, an athlete extraordinaire, and Makenzie is 14. She just started highschool and still in awe of the universe around her. They bring great joy to our lives and are all interesting, nice people.
In my paid work, I am the Executive Director of a not for profit social planning and research organization. It's an incredible job and there are plenty of days when I arrive at work and can hardly believe ...Expand for more
that I actually get paid to do the work I love.
Very involved in my community, politics, and I serve on a number of boards of directors of local and provincial organizations.
Hobbies are writing, gardening, cooking, reading, and sports. Still play soccer, although recreational now (the old knees just aren't what they used to be). I also ref competitive soccer...It started as a way to serve as a positive role model for kids, now I do it, not just for the love of the sport, but becuz I like to freak out my kids' friends. Evidently reffing is not what Mom's do....or so I am told.
All in all, I'd say it's been a pretty incredible life so far.
