MY ADVENTURE: My direction out of high school was to enter the military and serve my country. Selected the hardest one (what a mistake), joined the U.S. Marines. First stop, basic training in San Diego. When I arrived, was screamed at and told what to do, I thought "Oh my God, what did I do"?. Trained at Camp Pendleton, CA then sent to Okinawa with 3rd Marine Division, 2nd BN 4th Marines. Arrived Sept. 1975 and relieved the Marines who evacuated Saigon when it fell. My sea adventure started on the USS New Orleans amphibious assault ship on the "Far East Tour". Trained in interesting countries like Japan, Philippines & Korea. Went through 13 typhoons during my year tour and a few bad ones. Finished remaining time at Camp Lejuene, during a 2 yr enlistment. Returned home, attended Cowley JuCo Ark City, KS. '82-'84 then to Hutchinson JuCo to start my TV career, transfer to Memphis State Univ-'86. Pursued Photojournalism career in broadcast TV & video production. Began my professional career in Memphis for CBS affiliate in '88, early 90's then to Milwaukee. Worked in Broadcast news in 1994 then started my career with ESPN as a freelance cameraman.
