Roosevelt's Story

Life I live in the Atlanta Area. We've been here for 21 years. Prior to that, I lived in St. Charles, IL for 17 years and Ottawa, IL for 5 years. After CVS, I earned a BSME from IIT and a MBA from U of C. I worked for Northern Illinois Gas for 25 years. I have 4 children and 5 grandsons from my first marriage. I also have 2 younger kids and wife, Alisa, so I'm still working. I have an engineering and business consulting firm in the Atlanta area. We're doing ok, but its a tough business. I now have a great grandson, Morris Ellis 4th. My 2 younger children are growing up. Rosa graduated from Erskine College in May. She is a good student and played varsity basketball in high school and college. Christopher is a Soph at Davidson College in North Carolina. He is a good student and athlete. He also played basketball and Track in high school and is on track team in college. We're still operating the business in Atlanta, but the economy has slowed things down a bit. mulus package will help things pick up. And it has. We've gotten work over past year resulting from the stimulus. Update March 4, 2019: I now, have been in the Atlanta area for 26 years. My six children, including my 2 youngest, have all finished college ( 2 have Masters) and are on their own, pursuing careers. We continue to operate our engineering consulting business in the SouthEast. Business has improved and has become fairly steady, which is good. I love my work and have no plans to retire. I still play a little golf and still love to watch sports on TV, especially basketball. Three of my children played basketball in high school and 2 on scholarships in college. I miss watching them play, but time goes on. I now have 3 great grandsons and I suppose the number will keep growing. July, 2020: Our lives have been affected by Corvid-19, but our consulting business, R. Powell & Associates, Inc., is still doing fairly well and we're happy about that. Trying to get comfortable with new Great Grandson. He’s awesome to stay this calm with me trying to hold him. He and I both survived.
