Rosa's Story

Life Well, let's see. I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist with my own business and I'm enjoying not having a boss. I'm married with one daughter. I also had a kidney transplant in April 1995. I am doing fine so far (knock on wood!!)but I sure wish I had never had to have the transplant. My husband was wonderful through the whole mess and now I have a second chance for a beautiful family and life. Thank God that someone was good about being a kidney donor and Thank God that he gave me this extra time. I wouldn't change a thing! Well, now there is a new chapter in my life. My husband and I moved to a very small town in Texas called Malakoff, Texas and it is just a bit bigger than Bartonville or Bellevue, Illinois. We bought a business here and are enjoying our lives. Texas is a far cry from New Mexico but I love it so far. There are 3 lakes very close by and it is green (not brown green like New Mexico). I do love parts of New Mexico, don't get me wrong but I sure do miss the green trees and green grass and the rain. Oh how I have missed the down pours of rain!! Well, that is my life right now so enjoy and be happy!!!!! :-) Wor...Expand for more
kplace I have moved to New Mexico and have worked a lot of part-time jobs or more than one job at a time. Now, I have my own business as a Licensed Massage Therapist and I have my own office. I like it because I can spend more time with my family and I am helping people. I really enjoy doing massage and I couldn't think of a better career for me. Well, now I'm back working for a Medical Provider. I started getting arthritis in my hands and elbows so I had to give up massage. I really hate that. I loved doing massage for people. Oh, well! Sometimes you can't always have what you want. Military I was in the Illinois Air National Guard in Bartonville, IL directly after high school. It was an interesting time and I did enjoy my time in the service, even if the military only considers us part-timers I still enjoyed it. I would recommend the military to any graduating high school student. Actually, my cousin on my husband's side did go into the military after college. He is an officer in the U.S. Navy. I think that every high school graduate (including females) should go into the military after high school they could learn a lot.
