Rosalind's Story
When asked in 1966, just prior to graduation by Mrs. Gertrude Weil, GO teacher in charge, I said I wanted to be flying around the world with TWA. Why TWA, because they were an international carrier and I wanted to see the world.
I did not work for TWA, but for Chemical Bank, as a secretary. I was so proud of the fact that I aced the steno test (was on Honor Roll throughout my years at Central), and I thanked all my teachers in my head, since I could not reach many of them anyway!
I stayed true to Chemical for 33 1/2 years at which time I had become an Assistant Vice President. My Department, Lien Perfection, was whisked off to Houston, Tx., because it was much more cost effective. Unfortunately, my former husband was not liking the idea of Texas, and thus my life took a decided turn for the best!

nrolled in Culinary School, ICE and took my degree in Culinary Arts. I interned at the best restaurant, Chantrelle under the direct supervision of Chef David Waltuck, Owner and Executive Chef!

The timing here is really extraordinary; Michael that's his name, decided he could not stay married to a "cook" . What he really wanted was the Bank Executive he had married. Well, that was a bit of a shocker, however, I understood his dilimma. He left on Sat., 9/8. I hired a Divorce Attorney on 9/10 and you can guess the rest. No, Michael did not perish, although he continues to work for the SEC; his building fell but he was spared, thank the Lord.
I printed my first batch of business cards that fall and because of the 9/11 issue, things were very slow. I did not give up and today I am the proud Chef/Owner of "That Personal Touch Cuisine", a personal chef service. I followed my heart and my bliss and that's all she wrote!!! Would love to see all of you Centralites at the forthcoming CCHS Class of '66 Reunion.
