Rose Marie's Story
Life
Married in '68 to Robert Cassata, divorced 32 years and 1 day later. Have 5 sons, one granddaughter born 2002, and one grandson born 05/20/2005 and another grandaughter on 10/31/05. Raised my kids in Dolton & Crete. Moved to Aurora/Fox Valley area 1998. Career: Administrative.
In late 70s, I embraced the Charismatic Renewal experience, and learned to play guitar for worship services. Became music director at St. Rocco's in Chicago Heights in mid 80s. During and after the divorce, I "fell away". Searching for spiritual alternatives, I now attend Community Christian Church in Naperville.
School
Attended Siena then IHM for 2 years each, but made hundreds of friends in that short time. I wasn't fortunate enough to be able to attend college after High School, but always hoped I could go back after the kids ...Expand for more
were in school. I didn't realize by the time that happened, my oldest was entering College and again, my education had to be put on hold. In late 80s, returned to Prairie State to study computers and software programs. Investigated small business at Sugar Grove and now am attempting to achieve a certification and/or associates degree in business administration through a correspondence course.
Workplace
Began career at Chicago Tribune, went to Amoco Oil until I "retired" in 71 to raise my children. Back into the work force in 89: Hey & Associates, Ryan Financial (AON), Harbison Walker Refractories, WFLD Fox/32, Right Management & Globetrotters. I've been a Kelly services temp for years now. I've advanced from secretary to administrative assistant, coordinator & office manager and administrative specialist.
