Rosemarie Allen's Story

The Big Move I never felt like I belonged in Maine. It was always too cold for me. Also I never felt like my life wasn't going anywhere. So in October of 2001 I decided to move to Virginia. I packed all my stuff in a U-haul and with my car in tow, I drove 16 hrs to my cousin's house in Sterling. This was a really big deal for me. I have always been scared to just take a leap into the unknown all by my self, but I knew I had to do something to change my life. It was a big adventure for me. I have never drove that far all by my self. I did get a little lost a couple of times, but found my way back to where I needed to be. It was very exciting. I stayed at my cousin's house for a couple months. Got a job with a local bank. Got a place of my own and in January of 2002 I met Tom. We dated for a while and the rest is history. I am so glad that I made the move. My life has changed so much for the better. since then. I finally met the love of my life, had to wait until I was 40 to meet him, but it was well worth the wait. I finally found someone to love me for me, and not what they wanted me to be. I now live in Maryland. The weather here is so much better, hardly any winter at all. I try to get to Maine every other year to visit my family. It's a nice place to visit, but I don't think I will ever live there again. Life I lost my Mom, Maria, in August of 1999. I know alot of you knew and loved her. My Dad is still living in Maine in Scarboro with girlfriend. I also have a son, Dustin who was born in June 1983. His father and I were divorced in Jan 1985. He is a very talented young man. He is married, since 2004 to his wife Katherine. No grands yet, but I am not in a hurry. LOL He is into mus...Expand for more
ic at the moment and has his own band. They are thinking about moving to California to make their band famous. I wish him all the luck in the world, not that he needs it. He has a gift and I know he will always do well where ever he is. I am very proud of him. I got married on August 11, 2004. We just celebrated our Anniversary. I have never been so happy as I am at this moment.(except for the birth of my son) Life is Great and I am very greatful to have all that I have right now. God has blessed me. I would love to hear from any of my old classmates. Workplace I am an office manager at a utility contractor. I love my job. I am there from 7:00 - 3:00. I am finally able to use the accounting skills that I went to school for. I pay the bills, receive any payments, pay the taxes, answer the phone. Do whatever is needed to run the office. I have some down time, that can get a little boring, but I love my job. My Native Family Not sure if any of you knew this but I was adopted when I was 15 months old. I found my native family in 1998-99 and I have been reunited with my siblings. I have an older brother and sister and 4 younger sisters. They all live in Bangor, Maine where I am originally from. I am a member of the Passamaquoddy Tribe. I was not able to meet my birth mother or my grandmother, they had passed when I got there. My father is no where to be found. I have kept in touch with some but they are not all getting along and I think there is some annomosity because of the fact that I was brought up with a better family life than they had. I am happy to have met them and now I know the full story of my past. This was always very important to me. I needed to know my heritage and where I came from.
