Life

1970-1980 Price Waterhouse (Sr Mgr)
1980-82 Twin Fair (CFO)
1982-86 Kayak Pools (Pres/COO)
1987-1992 Strategic Investments (Partner); LBO firm; with investments in 60 companies throughout US.
1992-2001 Pine Hill Concrete (Pres/CEO); company sold Feb 2001 to Lafarge Corp.
2001- present Paul Blum Company (Pres/owner); supplies dry bulk materials to cement industry.
2005 - present United Materials (Chmn/owner) ready-mixed concrete & builders supplies
Have two sons Kevin (45) and Daniel (41) and three grandchildren. Both sons were Captains in the Marine Corp after graduating from U of Chic and U of Mich respectively. Kevin earned an MBA from Duke; lived in Dubai, UAE for 5 years with his wife Lynn a physician who did her residency at John's Hopkins in medicine and his 2 children. Currently Kevin is a Managing Director at Stephens Company and resides in Charlotte, NC.
Daniel works is a Sr VP at Wal-Mart; heads the Wal-Mart Services Division. He has been recognized nationally as Executive of the Year and has his MBA from U. of Chic. Dan previously worked ...Expand for more

My wife MaryAlice and I live in an old (circa 1838) home in the Village of Lewiston, NY, 7 miles north of Niagara Falls. She is an avid gardener (former President of the Lewiston Garden Club) and very involved in successful volunteer community fund raising. Our gardens were filmed and appeared on Home and Garden TV program "Secret Gardens". A testimony to her passion and hard work. MA has served as Commodore of Youngstown Yacht Club.
I currently serve as Treasurer of The Community Foundation For Greater Buffalo and have served as Chair of Shea's Performing Arts Center and Chair of the Niagara Area Foundation. Also served as VP/Director Aquarium of Niagara and Past Commodore of the Youngstown Yacht Club. Enjoy sailing Lake Ontario on Bella, our 36' sail boat. I am an avid reader, enjoy traveling and have raced on Wed nights aboard a C&C 29 (mainsail trimmer), play squash, ski and speed walk for exercise.
