Ross's Story
After graduating from Canton South, I went on to earn BA and MS degrees in mathematics from The University of Akron and an MA degree in computer science from Kent State University. In June of 2007 I received a BSBA degree from The Ohio State University. In 2009 I retired from the Information Technology department at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company with 30 years of service. After doing some IT consulting work for awhile, I eventually accepted an offer to join the IT department at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in Findlay, Ohio in March of 2011. In 2017 I left Cooper Tire and moved back to Stark County to begin a new position in the IT department at Joann Stores in Hudson. Over the years I have also been an adjunct professor of mathematics at The University of Akron, Ashland University, Stark State College, The University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, Terra Community College in Fremont, and The University of Mount Union in Alliance. In 2008 I reunited with my college sweetheart, Celeste, who I hadn't seen since 1973, and we were married the following year. I have two adult children from a previous marriage, Michael and Emily, and also two adult stepchildren, Ken and April. I am very proud of all four of them. Between myself and Celeste we now have 7 grandchildren. I am still active in music as a member of The Ohio State University Alumni Band. I would enjoy hearing from any of my old high school friends from band or otherwise.
