Roy's Story
50 years is a stretch ..... but here we are.
#8 of 9 siblings ... Rose, Jerry, Tom, Mike, Chris, Ron, Joyce, Me, Tim. ....... We lost Tom peacefully December 2013 then Rose and Tim one Month apart Sept. and Oct. 2015 to Cancer. Now Ron dropped out from The Jab. Which also, almost took out Mike. Crippled him for a bit but had some improvement. Life comes at ya fast!!! I still am so thankful for the time we've shared, God is Good !
Been retired 19 yrs. Now ........ very happy in Kentucky. and minutes off I75 for any of you RV'ers , STOP and stay in my park, full hookups.
One busy house. Missed sports since father's businesses came first. Missed Mich. since childhood friends are more like family.
Moved to Florida halfway through HS.... , Worked in fathe...Expand for more
rs businesses until I went into Military Police. Spent some time in Germany (loved it and the people and ran across Tom Maples there), Back to Fla where I remodeled homes and worked 25 years State Prison and County Jail (Kissimmee). Retired and left Fla. for the beauty and quiet of KY. Doing the Retired thing now traveling mainly N and S.
I am on my 2nd marriage (both strangely enough from Ohio) and I have 1 daughter and 2 granddaughters from the 1st.
I hope your memories of our younger days are all good. (I cling to those due to culture shock when I moved to Fla... whoa! were they ever different
It's a wonder I survived doing what I did for 25 years.
Hope to run across some of you in the future as I did with Tom in Germany....... it's a small world.
