Royce's Story
Life
Joined the Army in Sept 1978, married to Lourdes Salas (NDHS '78) in 1981. Three kids, now retired from the Army and more or less settled in Hawaii. Worked for a defense contractor (General Dynamics) for 12 years and then moved to the federal government.
School
Turmoil, turmoil, turmoil. That's the main word that comes to mind when thinking about high school. I had the brains to excel (A-student thru 7th grade) but got wrapped up in wanting to be "all that" at the expense of studying and staying in class. The old adage "had I known then what I...Expand for more
know now" really applies....
College
I attended HPU through accelerated night courses via off-campus military education centers. So I had no true affiliation with campus life nor the typical college scenario. Now trying to work on my BSIT in Networking and Telecommunications - an off-and-on endeavor.
Workplace
Currently an IT Specialist with the federal government working at Schofield Barracks, HI. I enjoy the work I do, I found out (by stepping away from the field for 19 months) that I thrive on the military mission whether in or not in uniform.
