Ruby (Ann)'s Story
Life
I was married 30 years. Am divorced. Work full time and enjoy it
very much.I Have 4 children and 12 grandchildren. Oldest son just turned
50 in May 2005. He served 4 years in the marines and 4 years in the coast guard.He is Married to a young lady from Ireland. She is a jewel. They have 4 children..2 Boys and 2 girls. The oldest is 18 graduated May 2005. He will be "raising his hand" to join the National Guard the day after Memorial day. Seems I have raised a group of Patriots. Good luck Daniel. (by the way all of my kids and grandkids live here except for the youngest and his family and the grandaughter teaching in dallas.)
Number 2 is a daughter. Has 2 girls. Oldest 27 years old ,married, and a teacher in Arlington Tx. Youngest is attending college.
Number 3 is a daughter. Has 3 girls. Oldest going to college. Will grad next year. second one is working full time, and third one is 7 years old.
My number 4 is a son. He is a Sergeant Major and has been depoyed in both the Gulf war and to Afganistan at the start of
that war. Has 3 sons. Oldest is 8 and 2 youngest are twins age 4. Married to a great gal who will graduate from college in a few months. She is also a National guard week-end warrior.
I travel when I can. Was employed by an airline for 6 years and got to travel extensively. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. The airline went bankrupt or I would still be traveling.
UPDATE... I WILL BE A GREAT GRANDMOTHER IN DECEMBER 2005.
UPDATE......I HAVE ANOTHER GRANDDAUGHTER GETTING MARRIED IN AUGUST. (NOT THE ONE ABOVE)
UPDATE... DANIEL GRADUATED FROM BOOTCAMP LAST WEEK, IS NOW IN MILITARY TRAINING SCHOOL. (TODAYS DATE IS SEPT 20)
UPDATE..... MY GRANDAUGHTER GOT MARRIED IN AUGUST ....HAD A BEAUTIFUL CHURCH WEDDING.... SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL GIRL.

DANIEL.... COMPLETED MILITARY SCHOOL IN MARCH, STARTED WORK , WORKED THRU SUMMER, ENROLLING IN LOUISIANA TECH NEXT WEEK, (USING GUARD AND BAND SCHOLARSHIPS AND MONEY HE SAVED WORKING, GUARD BONUS AND GUARD SALARY)

COLLEGE IN DECEMBER 2005 AND FROM OFFICER MILITARY SCHOOL IN MAY AND IS PRESENTLY STUDYING FOR HER MASTERS DEGREE IN BATON ROUGE. MY SON TAKES OVER THE ROLE OF MOMMY AND DADDY WHILE SHE STUDIES AND GOES TO SCHOOL.........JUST AS SHE HAS TO TAKE ON BOTH ROLES WHEN HE IS DEPLOYED OR ATTENDING MILITARY UPDATE SCHOOLS .THIS UPDATE IS 2-11-09. I NOW HAVE 3 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN........ALSO DANIEL IS NOW IN BAGHDAD IRAQ WITH THE 225 ENGINEER BTN. WILL BE THERE FOR 1 YEAR. KYLE (DANIELS BROTHER)(MY GRANDSON) IS AT CAMP PENDELTON IN CALIFORNIA IN THE MARINES...TRAINING FOR DEPLOYMENT LATER THIS YEAR.... NOT SURE WHERE.... I THINK WE ALL KNOW WHERE THE MARINES GO NOW THOUGH...
MY DTR IN LAW GOT HER MASTERS DEGREE, NOW HAS THE RANK OF 1ST LT.
FRANKLIN (HER HUSBAND-MY SON) RETIRED IN NOVEMBER AS A COMMAND SERGENT MAJOR AND IS NOW WORKING AS A CIVILIAN SOLDIER... BOTH STILL AT BEAUREGARD IN PINEVILLE , LA.
MY OLDEST SON , ROCKY, SHOWED ME ON GOOGLE EARTH A PICTURE OF REAGAN HIGH SCHOOL......WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AT ALL THE NEW WINGS......SURE STILL LOOKS THE SAME THOUGH IN FRONT....STILL MY SCHOOL. MY GRANDKIDS SAW THE SCHOOL ALSO AND WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED THAT A SCHOOL "THAT OLD" HA WAS SO GOOD LOOKING...HA. I GUESS I AM GOING TO HAVE TO RENEW MY GOLD MEMBERSHIP SO I CAN COMMUNICATE WITH SOME of you...
Update...12/15/2009... Daniel made it home from Baghdad...was at Fort Hood being processed out when the Shootings occurred....was just a few minutes from going in ...to be processed.. Thank you God....for his safety....
Kyle (Daniel's brother) is in the Marines...on a ship making various stops delivering & picking up goods & troop supplies.....last stop was in Kuwait...and on Thanksgiving a Miracle happened....My daughter in law (1st Lt.) is presently deployed there...when Kyle saw they were stopping he got in touch w/ my son who got in touch w/ his brother (my other son) at Camp Beauregard..who got in touch w/ his wife (my dtr in law) and after much looking for each other they finally made contact & got to spend time together....It was a happy day for all of us and lifted their spirits tremendously... a reunion....half way around the world...in a war zone..on Thanksgiving..
