Rueben's Story
> Attended Hawaiian Mission Academy 1958 - 1959 after my family (Dad, mom and 3 siblings) returned to the USA after being missionaries in the Philippines from 1949 -1957
> Attended Pacific Union College, 1959 - 1965
> Worked at Northern California Conference as teacher and principal of the Vacaville SDA Church School 09/1965 - 12/1966 (three semesters)
> Worked at the Los Angeles County of Public Social Services 01/67 - 03/2003. Started out as a Social Worker Trainee and ended up being a district director of the Lincoln Heights District. Retired from county service at the end of 03/2003 after 36.3 years of county service

them are grown and living successfully on their own. I have 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
> Had a heart transplant in 03/2002. Returned to work after a 2 month recovery period but discovered it wasn't fun anymore so I retired.
> I became a member of the San Fernando Valley Filipino SDA church and have been an elder of the church
> Became widowed in 08/2009 when my wife unexpectedly passed away due to pneumonia
> Have enjoyed my retirement since 2003 but discovered I didn't like being alone after my wife passed away. Life is much better with a soul mate, friend, lover and spouse.
I ENJOY BEING RETIRED. WHAT I DON'T LIKE IS NOT GETTING HOLIDAYS OFF. WAIT A MINUTE. EVERYDAY IS A HOLIDAY FOR RETIRED PEOPLE. LOL.
