Russ's Story
Departed Madras to join the Navy in 65 along with Glen Mizer. After boot camp in San Diego we were stationed in Kingsville, Texas for six months while waiting for school - after that we went our own ways. After being discharged in 69 I went to Detroit, MI for a year where a Navy buddy lived.
The summer of 70 I returned to Portland, OR where I lived until 78 when I started work overs...Expand for more
eas. Since then I have lived in numerous countries around the world on various projects.
In June 2000 I married Ferda in Istanbul, Turkey. We have lived in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and now Antalya Turkey.
Happy to have good health to this day (2023) though my running days are gone I still go on long walks and workout in my home gym.
We tour Turkey or Europe during the summer months.
