Russel's Story

Life After high school I started studying biochemistry at ISU. I ended up being bored and decided to give something else a try, mostly trying to find a job that paid more than minimum wage during the summer to pay for school. I worked a few odd jobs around Pocatello, and then moved to Utah to work for a computer support company. During my 1-year in Utah I determined that Utah was not the place for me, but that I enjoyed working with computers. I had a coworker that had moved to Virginia that referred me to a job there. I moved to the Washington, DC area in 1998...coincidentally Jonathan Auth was in DC that summer and for a year after graduating. I worked at various Internet companies, startups and well established and I played the self-employed consultant for a little while. I then moved to Portland, Oregon. gh places to establish where I wanted to be long term. I moved to Portland over the month of July 2003. I have to say, Portland is great and I have very few things to dislike here. It did take me a while to find a job, but I am now working for a company based in Atlanta, GA. I travel around doing computer consulting, to be vague. The company focuses on high end data storage and protection solutions, to be more precise. I don't have the BMW yet, but that is because I realized I couldn't live without a Jeep. I get to travel for work, but not enough for personal. I still haven't been to Europe, or off the continent other than Hawaii and the Bahamas...but with the frequent flyer miles I earn from work that may change. If you want to know more, email me. Otherwise I hope to see everyone at the upcoming 10-year I to be the only unmarried class member?
