Life
Well where to begin......
I got my BFA from the University of South Dakota after spending too many years transfering from various schools. I started at Morningside College then transfered to Bob Jones, we wont talk about that mistake :) , then back to Morningside then finally to USD. My degree is in Theatre Stage Design and Technical production.
Once I graduated I spent about half a year working odd jobs while I was finding one to fit my degree. I ended up working for the Goodspeed Operahouse in East Haddam Connecticut. I was in charge of the run crews for there shows there. Did that for about 3 years, at the end worked in there stage management department. While there I met my Lisa who I am now married to.
After Goodspeed, Lisa and I went on to work with a touring company traveling all over the US doing the shows South Pacific and Chicago. It was fun to do all that travel but wow was it hard!
I am not sure if I will have room for all so I will speed things up. After touring we moved to Dallas. While there she landed a job with a touring show in Europe. I moved to the Virgin Island to work for her dad while she traveled Europe with the show. I hated living on a...Expand for more
island so we moved back to CT and worked for the Goodspeed again.
This time I spent half my time as a carpenter building sets and supervising run crews for the shows. I did this till I was starting to get tired of my carreer not to mention certain people I had to work with. I decided to reenlist in the Air Guard here in CT. I had been in the Guard during my college years back in Iowa. I reenlisted in July of 2001. In Sept. of 2001 I had taken off work to do 2 weeks annualy training at the base. It was then the towers where struck. At this time most of the base was deployed over seas and just a small number of people left at base. Those of us here scrambled to get 3 planes fueled and loaded with ammo and put on alert. It was at that time I decieded I would try for a full time job at the base and make that my new career.
I got the full time job and about a year later we where activated and sent over to participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom. I spent 2 months in the Middle East during that fight. After that deployment I had managed to save some money and lisa and I bought a house and got maried last Sept.
Thats my life in a nut shell. Lots of travel and a career change.
