Russell's Story
Life
Since leaving Westchester in 1981, I've been fanning out across the rest of the US. I went to college and business school at the University of Chicago and then went to Stanford for a Ph.D. in Political Science. My work has been in Chicago for most of the 1980's but primarily in New York since then.
I met my wife, Andrea, at Morry's deli on the University of Chicago campus and we married some seventeen years ago. We have three terrific kids--Hannah (17), Alex (15), and Jack (5). Andrea received her Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of Chicago but currently spends most of her time writing poetry and doing readings in New York and London.

heimerFunds, then at Zurich Scudder Investments, and at Deutsche Bank. Most recently, I moved to Sacramento, CA to become Chief Investment Officer of CalPERS, the California Public Employees Retirement System.
I still play the euphonium but have also expanded to the trombone.
My quixotic endeavor has been my farm in Maine in which I have tried to rehabilitate some 500 acres to their pre-1770 condition. As such, my family, friends, neighbors, and professionals have been working over the past few years on the largest hardwood reforestation project in Maine--some 10,000 mixed hardwood trees that will mature between 50-150 years from now.
In New Jersey, we live in an old firehouse which we fixed up some six years ago. It's a neat old place with great proximity to the city.
