Life After finishing my undergraduate years, I taught school for a year, then I signed a contract to teach at a small start-up private school. After they reneged on the contract and decided to begin with grades K-6, I spent a few months hearing “You’re overqualified!” and “…not enough experience!”, then I returned to school, finishing my Master’s degree in July of ’88. I began working for the Air Force as a civilian Information Technology specialist in August of ’88, and I just finished my 18th year at Tinker Air Force Base in August of ’06. I spent the next few years getting involved in whatever I could find at work, church, and wherever else I found myself. It wasn’t until the fall of ’96 that I met Dawn here in the Oklahoma City area--a lady just over 2 months younger than I who, like myself, had remained single rather than "looking for love in all the wrong places", as the song goes. As it turned out, my sister was school librarian in the same small Kansas town (population less than 500) where Dawn’s grandparents lived. (What are the odds of that???)
