Ruth's Story
Life
Hey! Well, it turns out that I didn't become a nun after all!, far from it, actually! Moved to Eureka, CA in my Junior year and met the man of my dreams, Randy, soon after. We got married in 1988 and bought our first home, then we started our own construction company. We enjoyed many adventures together traveling the country, along with Hawaii and B.C.in our free time. Our favorite places being the ski resorts in Keystone, Vail & Park City. We actually suck at skiing, but that doesn't stop us from lovin the white stuff and a taste of the life of the rich & famous! Four years later, we were blessed with our firstborn son, Ryan. Then came Rachel and two years after, Rhett. Then, we were pregnant with our fourth child, a son, but tragically ended in a miscarriage and almost ended my life because of serious complications. So much for those 14 kids we were planning on! (not really!)
During the dot-commers fad, together with some friends, we worked for fortune 100 & 500 corporations in the bay area & Houston, installing and maintaining the data base program called Essbase. After a few years of this,we decided that the commuting and corporate life of sitting behind a desk, was not for us and we returned to expand and run our construction company. We are currently in the process now of building our dream home in the Redwoods. We are going to attempt to cut down some of the Redwoods & Doug Fir on the pr...Expand for more
operty and mill up all the lumber for the house ourselves! I love wood working! At the same time, we are developing our property at Trinity Lake for our vacation home--I can't wait until we are finished so we can keep our boat there at our cabin for fun on the lake. We enjoy fishing, especially, Ryan. The only problem is, he won't let us keep the fish for eatin'--he makes us throw them back!
We've started our own religion, called "Maverick Jews", hey!, what the heck, we couldn't find any religion out there that met our needs, so we started our own!
We have a little pomeranian doggie that we named "Old Man Jenkins", aka: "Sponge Bob". We used to have 2 German Shepherds that I bred--they made Big, Beautiful "Old world style" puppies. The parents passed away 2 years ago at the ripe old age of 14. (wish I would have kept a puppy!)
We also have a small parrot that my husband, Randy, had since he was an 8 year old boy, whom he named "Clyde". I would always tease Randy that "Clyde" was really a female, (just a gut feeling.) And sure enough, after all those years, "he" started laying eggs last spring!!
Well, that is a small part of my life in a nutshell. May I encourage those I went to school with, who are reading this and viewing my photos to do the same!, C'mon, now, don't be shy, or too lazy--spill your beans & get your mug out there, so the rest of us can see!
Peace Out, my fellow classmates from days of old!
