Ruth's Story
I met Vern at Shasta College in 1968. He was best man at my 1st wedding. My 1st husband, Chuck, was paroled to the Shasta College dorms. We were married 15 yrs. We owned and ran a halfway house in Daytona Beach, and a fiberglas company, lived aboard two yachts in FL and CA. I ran a playground, taught school, did my social worker thing, and worked for the Job Service of Florida. I moved back to California in 1985 divorced, with my Grand Uncle Frank.
Vern and I have been together since Super Bowl Sunday 1989. He gave me a kidney 05/07 and my quality of life ...Expand for more

My Last Career
I oversaw domestic and international hardware maintenance at CableData. Responsible for ensuring we met our contract committments, and that our vendors did also, I had to quit in March 2005 due to health issues. 15 wonderful years. I really loved my work and co-workers!
9-11-11: We've decided to be vagabonds and nomads and just go,
6-30-23 Wow, long time. Since July of ‘12 we’ve been to 70 countries all around the world. It’s a great life on the road. Usually out a year or more at a time. Our home is in Wilton, CA.
