Ruth's Story
Life
I am now retired and spent much of my working life working for the Federal Government.
The biggest surprise in my life was that I married a second time. He just marched into my life and changed my name to Harper. I am proud to carry that name because the man who married me and made me change my name was wonderful. He was a nice Scottish gentleman who spent some time in New York. Unfortunately that wonderful man passed away in April, 2007.
I hope my friends will remember me in a positive way.
I like to read, or work on my computer.
The wildest thing I ever did in school was to make paint in Chemistry class. The teacher didn't tell us what we were making.
I have lived many places, most of them were in Colorado and I was more or less permanent in Denver when I moved here in 19...Expand for more
64, but I moved around here a lot. I went to 5 high schools in three years.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Linda H., because I was her friend in high school.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to my church and Children International, then spend the rest on paying all my bills, traveling to see friends in other countries and some relatives, buy a nice house with lots of room and invest the rest so I would have enough money to live on for the rest of my life.
I lived in a dorm for 5 quarters. Many interesting things happen like the time we got an unusual guest. A goat. I was busy in my room and I heard a bleating. It was in the lounge.
My current age is 63. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ancient. I was so completely wrong.
