Ryan's Story
Life
It hasn't been the ideal life I would have chosen, but now I wouldn't trade a thing. I love my life and feel it's only just now beginning to get started. After I graduated high school, I joined the Navy and had a blast for 4 years. I got out to got to school, which is what I'm doing now. I've been at Blinn the past year, but have now been accpeted into Texas A&M and will be attending there beginning this Fall. I'm very excited about where I'm at, even though I feel very old sometimes being in class with fresh high school grads. I plan to coach football for a living after I earn my degree.
School
School was always very weird for me up until graduation. I was never around one single group/ school too long it seemed. Then once I got into High School I hardly ever went. I graduated from Bryan High after spending my first 11 years in Humble schools. I can't say I made any of those life friends while in high school, but I don't think I made any enemies either. ain, I'd start in 8th grade and never skip school, quit football etc. I'd probably also be more outgoing and date more.
Military
I left for boot camp in Great Lakes, IL in December 1999. I was involved in JOBS(I forget exactly what that stands for...if your curious ask) and stayed in Great lakes about 2 months after graduation. From late April 2000 until I got out in December 2003, the rest of my Naval career was spent in San Diego, CA. I went to 'ST' A school at Fleet ASW. In October I reported to the USS Higgins (DDG 76), my first ship. We deployed in November and I got my first taste of the seas, and foreign countries. We made another deployment in November 2002, this time being a part of the war effort. I really loved my time in the Navy and had a great time, meeting great people. It was hard fro me to get out, and the decision took me a very long time to make, but I believe it was the right one. I am currently half way through my goal of earning a BS degree from Texas A&M University.
