Ryan's Story

Life I graduated from UW School of Medicine in 1999. I completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Naval Medical Center San Diego. I'm still in the Navy as a lieutenant commander. Before finishing my residency, I went to flight school in Pensacola and then served as the flight surgeon for Carrier Air Wing 17 on board USS George Washington during Operation Endurin...Expand for more
g Freedom. My wife, Robin, is an ICU nurse but is currently staying home with our three kids: Astrid, Robby, and Jon. We live in Peru right now. I'm working at the Naval Medical Research Center in Lima as a clinical researcher and director of tropical medicine training. I have a giant electrified wall around my house, get driven to work in an armored Suburban, and am working on my Spanish. Good times.
