Ryan's Story
Life
As-Salaam Âala man ittabaÂa al-huda ...
My life turned out unlike anything that I ever would have imagined. Since I left Dallas things kind of took a path of their own. I've had my share of ups and downs. I've also had my share of world traveling.
From dropping my major (Vocal Performance - Opera) to coming to Islam and becoming Muslim to becoming a web developer and later, the CEO of a company. The time I've spent here and abroad is amazing.
Leaving Texas is possibly the best thing that has ever happened to me. I do not regret any of it at all.
I would like to think that the ones I left behind are doing well for themselves as well. But I know that everyone's path takes them to different places and...Expand for more
different extremes.
Since I'm the last person that anyone would ever want to contact, for those who do read this, take care and may you be guided upon the straight path in life.
School
If anyone is expecting me at the Class of '97 reunion in 2007, don't. I will not be attending. Nor will I be attending any of the subsequent reunions.
College
I never finished at Howard U. or Strayer U. None-the-less, I'm doing better than I thought I would be doing at this point in time in my life.
I was able to teach myself programming and web development. I went on to be a Senior ColdFusion Developer working for the Federal Government.
As I look back, I think I make more now than I would have if I stayed in my major.
