Samuel's Story
Life
After graduation from Hillcrest, I
attended the University of Texas,
Austin. I received a BBA in marketing in
1974. From 1974-76 I worked for
federated Department Stores in Dallas.
My parents and I established Asia House,
an oriental art gallery at Old Town in
the Village. In 1978, I accepted a
position with Ashkenazie and Co. in San
Francisco. In 1991, after 13 years with
that firm, I founded my own Chinese art
gallery, S. Bernstein and Company which
is located in the Fairmont Hotel in San
Francisco. I am the author of eleven
books on Oriental art and have had 14
articles published. My autobiography,
The Emperor's Jade Suit will be
published in 2002. I ...Expand for more
am married to a
beautiful Chinese woman and have a 20
year old son attending the University of
California and a 7 year old boy who has
way too much energy. My family live on
top of hill with deer, skunks, raccoons,
opposums lizards, and all kinds of
birds. I enjoy wearing adventure
clothing and a Stetson hat. Over the
years I have travelled all over the
world in search of great art and great
food. I am satisfied with my life and
sometimes think about my schools days.
They were not particularly memorable.
By the way, does anyone know what
happened to Officer Barton, who used to
patrol Hillcrest in his Dallas Police
car? I wonder what happened to Mary Ann
Ball?
