I left the farm in Possum Holler in '85 for the USAF. I lived in NE NY for three cold winters wrenching on FB-111s and then, three years at Bitburg, Germany, crewing F-15s. A weird story concerning the latter that deals with degrees of separation... I attended first grade in Greenville, Texas, at Carver Elementary and then, my parents moved back "home" to SW Arkansas, where I finished out my 11 years of public education. I met an old Carver Elementary classmate from 1st grade while stationed at Bitburg Air Base, Germany in the late 80's. It was amazing that all our life choices brought us back, together; working out of the same expediter van in the 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Unit like 15 years, later. Small world, indeed. Now, back on point: I returned to Arkansas in '91 to attend HSU and take part in their Aviation program and was part of a USAFR unit at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. I found employment in '94 in Portland, Oregon, and got involved in a situation/relationship that I have grown to equate to that of a bad car wreck that I luck...Expand for more
