Samuel's Story
I left the farm in Possum Holler in '85 for the USAF. I lived in NE NY for three cold winters wrenching on FB-111s and then, three years at Bitburg, Germany, crewing F-15s. A weird story concerning the latter that deals with degrees of separation...
I attended first grade in Greenville, Texas, at Carver Elementary and then, my parents moved back "home" to SW Arkansas, where I finished out my 11 years of public education.
I met an old Carver Elementary classmate from 1st grade while stationed at Bitburg Air Base, Germany in the late 80's. It was amazing that all our life choices brought us back, together; working out of the same expediter van in the 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Unit like 15 years, later. Small world, indeed.
Now, back on point:
I returned to Arkansas in '91 to attend HSU and take part in their Aviation program and was part of a USAFR unit at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.
I found employment in '94 in Portland, Oregon, and got involved in a situation/relationship that I have grown to equate to that of a bad car wreck that I luck...Expand for more
ily walked away from.
I returned to school and earned a MA in Education and a teaching license for High School History which allows me to substitute teach.
I have two fine children which I enjoy more than anything else in life. We have traveled to Hawaii a couple of times in the recent past and look forward, as they mature, of going overseas to visit foreign lands.
I have chosen to remain in Oregon to raise my children and be a positive influence in their lives...even though I do not hold warm thoughts concerning the liberalism, property taxes, and traffic that is so abundant here.
I enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, motorcycle touring, flying, traveling, reading a good book (non-fiction), and cooking a meal to have a reason to enjoy that bottle of Merlot.
Single for now and single for life...for most accidents occur close to home.
Contact me for my personal webpage info since the folks that run this op have deemed it unfit to post here and supressed my story and info...I have great motorcycle tourng shots on there.
Always forward!-sam
