Sandi's Story

Life I'll try to make this interesting: Just after high school, after college, I won a contest which allowed me to travel to Thailand and South America where I learned mystic hypnotherapy techniques. I seemed to have a knack for hypnotizing ppl and when things got tough for me in the online porn market, I began to travel, doing hynosis shows (like Rumaine, but I was better). I did that for about two years, when I decided Florida seemed like a great place to settle down for a while - I met a local and we managed to build a hut made out of scrap wood and old car parts, in the everglades. We had some pet alligators and they seemed tame and nicely trained until one day they bit my poor hubbys legs off. Having failed my first aid test, I could do nothing but watch him sink sadly into the quicksand - yes there is quicksand in Florida. - tragic, really... So I decided it was time for a change. With my love of the ocean and quest for warm places I moved to the Caribbean, alone and searching for "myself". I took up scuba diving and found my only means of livelihood was to dive for local tourists for fresh seafood and lobster. It was pretty sweet. Dive and swim all day, relax on the beach withmy coronas for the evenings. I met Jimmy Buffet there one night. I heard him singing and playing out inthe harbour on his sailboat, so I swam out with my 6 pack of corona and he invitedme on board. We had so much fun. He put some shrimpies onthe barby and we actually wrote a song together - which reminds me, he still owes me for royalties - but I haven't been able to find h...Expand for more
im since. The whole expereince actually put a bad taste in my mouth - literally - Imean the shrimp were OFF!!! I got deathly ill and was rushed back to Canada via chopper and have been here ever since.... I've been working in the newspaper industry as production manager, lived inin Burnaby, worked in Vanc, moved to Salt Spring Island. Studied classical animation. I spend my free time sailing, hiking, gardening, drinkin' coronas, camping, boating, drinkin coronas and then I like to sail, hike, garden and drink coronas. Got my VW Van - and yes, I do park it down by the river... Addicted to computers - Macintosh and graphic design is my passion. Married a musician - oh great!!! can anyone relate to that!!!! Got a cute 3 year old daughter - now there's one with an attitude - NO idea where she gets that from - must be the hubby's side of the family - LOL. My dear hubby, Andrew is an arist and web applications/internet developer working in the e-learning and character animation industry. Still visit CR a bit, but I don't get back to Florida or the Caribbean or Thailand much - too many bad memories there.... It'd be great to hear from others to share similar experiences.... Email me with all your good gossip - remember I live on a small remote island, no streetlights, no traffic lights, more sheep than cars, 4 gas stations and only 3 grocery stores. Ugh. No fast food - which is good.... and definitely the odd hippies hanging around - no, not me.... I've changed... really!!! ... hmmm, maybe I should've been a writer of fiction... what do you think?
