My Spouse
I met my husband at my place of employment, Mimico Correctional Centre (in Toronto) where he has been employed as a Correctional Officer since 1990. My husband, Jeff, is now a C.O. at the Ontario Correctional Institute in Brampton, ON.
My Job
I have a very interesting job where I get to meet and work with some very "interesting" people. I'm a Correctional Officer. I work with provincially sentenced inmates (that's people who have been sentenced to serve a maximum jail term of two years less a day). en't seen. I currently work with adult male offenders, but have worked in the past with adult female offenders and female young offenders. It's a great job, but it can be very stressful...
**UPDATE**
I am currently an Acting OM16 (for the lay people: Lieutenant, Captain, Supervisor, Manager) at Mimico Correctional Centre, (all it means is that I have twice as much responsibility for 3% more pay- some days it's not worth it). I've been in the position for about a year and will be completing for a full-time position at another facility. Wish me luck!
