Katie's Story

After graduation I moved away to Houston with my husband then. Had a boy who is now 31. We divorced and I found my husband I am with now. We moved to Atlanta in 1985 and lived there for 20 years. I really enjoyed it there. I worked for the state of Georgia until my daughter was born. After she started school, I got a job there. I was teaching grades K-5, the english language. When the 1996 Olympics came to Atlanta, alot of people decided that it would be their new home and country. My daughter was not getting the education I thought she should have so we packed up the house and motorhome and a moving truck and went to Florida where I live now. I work for the county I live in and on weekends we take the motorhome and go to a different beach even though I live 10 miles from one now or state park. The daughter is in Tae-Kwon-Do and we chase tournaments also. She will be a 1st degree blackbelt in June 2008. She is a very smart ...Expand for more
and level headed kid. She always tries to please us. She is also on the Junior National Honor Society. She did so well her 1st year here that we took her on a cross country motorhome excursion to Montana. My father-n-law is from there. We stopped everywhere. St. Louis Arch-- Branson Mo.-- Deadwood S.D. where she helped Wild Bill Hickok-- Mt. Rushmore-- Yellowstone--Big Fork Montana. we drove a car down to the redwood forest in California, then went up the seacoast highway until we got to Oregon. There we saw Mt. St. Helens--Mt. Rainier. In Seattle Wa. we went up in the space needle. After that we went to Vancouver Canada. It took all summer long but you only live once. We are thinking on taking her up the east coast to the New England States then another cross country in the south part of the country. Life has been very good for me and I enjoy it everyday.
