Sandra's Story
Since I joined ClassMates I have reconnected with several old friends. Some from school, some from the places we lived while my dad was in the Navy. This has been a truly exciting experience.
It is now 2006 and almost Christmas. Where does the year go? I am now the proud grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren. Three little boys and one little girl. My husband retired from the Navy and is still working here in the DC area as a contractor. I had to shut the doors on my company the end of last year and am now busy taking care of my elderly mother and dogs. That in addition to having my grandchildren with me two days a week I really have little time for much else. My husband and I recently took up golf again after 30 or more years of not playing. It is more fun this time because we don't feel any pressure to play like the pros. It's a lot more fun that way.
It's 2010!!! Can't believe it! Now I have 7 grandchildren. Think that will be about it though. Maybe..... Being a grandma is so much fun. These children are so precious and I love watching them grow up.
My husband and I will be celebrating our 40th this Apri...Expand for more
l! I am about to turn 60 like most of you are or already have. Life is very good right now. We have lots of plans to travel in our motor home this year and I am truly looking forward to that. I hope all of you are having a great time with your lives as well!
2011 brought us down to Norfolk where we bought a house right next door to our daughter and her husband and two boys. This has been quite an experience moving so close to those little boys. I love being a grandma and they call me Grammy! What fun it is to be here. It is our hope that we will eventually be able to retire here and continue enjoying life here near the ocean.
Still in Norfolk, DH is traveling back and forth to NOVA for business but most of the time you will find us living aboard our boat. We do this 5 days a week and are home for visits with our daughter and grandsons on weekends. It is heaven to have a boat big enough to sleep aboard and DH can set up his computers and work from there. He calls it living the dream. Not sure how many people are on Classmates these days, one of the reasons I'm not here much anymore. Most everyone I know is on Facebook.
