Sandra's Story
Life
After Carolina I attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia. I married Edwin Breazeale of Pickens in 1966 and we headed off across the country and Europe with the U.S. Air Force for the next 23 years. All along I continued going to school and working as a counselor and educational administrator. Our twin son and daughter, Ben and Barbara were born in 1970.
We are now in Columbia, SC where I worked for the University of South Carolina in teaching and administration for several years and now am in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach with an office next door to our townhouse community on Barnwell Sreet.. I teach graduate students in counseling for Liberty University online, and do some Bible teaching, speaking and writing.
Edwin just retired as a department chair and remains a faculty member at Midlands Technical college. We are both actively involved in many ministries of First Baptist Church Columbia and sing in the choir. [Look for me on the front row of the choir if you get the service on TV!]
Our children are long married (since 1992) to wonderful people (Ben to Ally and Barb to Sam) They are busily living their own lives and rearing their own children.
The joys of our lives include grandchildren: Samuel Benjamin Breazeale, born in 1996, Grace Suzanne Breazeale, born in 1997, Tessa Elizabeth Branham born in 1998, Samuel Cooper Branham born in 2000, Luke Edwin Branham born in 2003 and Benjamin Winchester "Wynn" Breazeale born in 2006. grandparents now and simply try to support their parents during their "pressure cooker" years of rearing children, making a living , keeping a marriage strong and serving others.
In 2012 we moved to a townhouse in downtown Columbia with NO yard and NO pool to take care of with few people using it as the grandchildren grow up. In fact, our eldest grandson Sam, attended the Governor's School for the Arts in Greenville the last two years of high school as an accomplished pianist and writer. He is entering his sophomore year at USC and parks his car at our place since he lives in a dorm only 3 blocks away and to our joy is in and out here a lot. He is a Public Health major. The other grandchildren are not far behind...Grace just graduated [June 2015] from Dutch Fork High School #4 in her graduating class, and will be attending the University of NORTH Carolina at Chapel Hill on scholarship. Tessa a senior and Cooper a sophomore at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Fairfax County Virginia. Luke is a 6th grader in Virginia and Wynn is in third grade here in Columbia. The time will fly...they get busier and busier...and we are enjoying downtown living and more freedom.
Life has had its share of ups and downs for us as for everyone else. Through it all God has been faithful and we have learned a lot about the absolute necessity of grace and forgiveness for all. I have fond memories of our days at Carolina and hope all is well with you. I can wish you nothing better than peace and comfort in your own unique story. You are loved.
