Sandra's Story
Life
I got married in 1951 in my junior year at Rock Island high school and had 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys. I was divorced in l964 and remarried in 1966 and
between my husband and I, we had 8 children (4of mine and 4 of his). He had
also had 2 boys and 2 girls. We moved from Illinois to Colorado then to
California . moved to Iowa and then back to California and we also moved to
Northern Nevada twice and then back to California where we stayed until my
husband retired and we moved to Oregon and have lived here for over 13 years.
We live in a forest area on l.9 acres) and we have a dog, 8 cats, 2 goats,
acquairiam fish and of course all kinds of wildlife, raccoons, deer, elk, etc.
We raised a grandson from the age of 10 to l7 and he enlisted in the Army at
the age of l6 and graduated in 2002 from high school at the age of l7 and
went into the army 2 months after he graduated from high school. ...Expand for more
He has
been stationed in Fairbanks, AK.for 3 years and just left this week for Iraq.
Iworked until all of my children went on their own and had several different
jobs. I worked for a radiologist in front office (I was the only one) and did
all of the front office jobs and retired from there after 8 years and later on
I worked part time for an M.D.for 2 years and then I retired for good. Both
of those jobs were in Escondido, California.
Now I play on my computor, feed and take care of animals and go shopping
and out to dinner with my husband along with all of the other jobs that go
with being a wife.
I enjoy being retired and enjoy our property and animals, etc. We live
50ft. above the pasture below us and the river is right adjacent to the
pasture and we can see the bend in the river as well as the river from our
front deck and front yard. We have a beautiful view.
