Sandra Dean's Story
My lives so far ..
December 2022 - Wow! A lot has happened in 12 years. We finally got Married on our 7th anniversary. I am an almost-step-grandparent - very long and comical story that one. We have lost many of our near and dear family and one beautiful furry soul. And added one - Pumpkin has been family since 2016 and the lap-cat we have always needed.
I have gotten in touch with my Father's family in TN and we even went out for a visit in 2012. It was wonderful getting to know them and seeing where my Father grew up. I wish I had been able to see it while he was alive - but my brothers and sister were able to show me around and my Uncle had all the stories I needed to hear. I just wish I has asked more questions at the time.
But we are old, semi-healthy and both employed. Both doing well and making it work. And I love my wifey more every day I wake up.
September 2010 - We did it! Well, not IT but as close as we can - Teddy and I have become Registered Domestic Partners and my LEGAL name is now : Sandra DeAn Gilmore-Gonzalez! And still grinning from ear to ear!
2010 has been the best year yet. We still have our girls, Shadow-Darkness, Cami and Ashley-Cooper, and our boy PITA still rules the house, last year we added Widget. Teddy, my best half, is the love of my life.
My job is the best and the kid agrees, so while she makes a life with her man in Sac, Teddy and I are doing just fine here.
School
Where to start ... K-2 at Roberts Elementary in Orangevale. I have fond memories of Tami Comber (sp). I was recently reminded my name has changed over the years, so at Roberts I was Sandy Thomas.
Then we moved to Citrus Heights and CH Elementary through 6th. Sylvan Jr. High for 7th Grade where I went by Sandra Haflich. Carla, Desiree, Sam (Joe), David, Kevin, Stephen, Reid, yo...Expand for more
u are all hold a special place in my heart.
8th Grade at Will Rodgers was a challenge, new kids, new friends; Carla H, Annie (Alyce). And this is when I started using my birth name, Gilmore.
Then on to San Juan. Boy was that a great place. I made new and lasting friends, Ty, Rena', Helen, Ricky, and yes even the Cadets. And maintained old friendships, Joe (Sam), Stephen, Annie.
My senior year was split between San Juan for the very first day, then Wooster in Reno, NV while I worked nights and night classes at Rancho Cordova while I worked days.
I must say, for all my various experience, San Juan was the best. Over the years the same people circle through my life. Family is flawed, jobs and relationships change, but Friends are forever.
Keep in touch guys.
Workplace...
Geez! To cover what I have done since High School would take another lifetime. As close to chronological as possible:
Live-in Childcare; Telemarketer; Cocktail Waitress; Oil Wrestler (yes that is what I said!); Hostess; Motel Maid; Department Store Clerk; McDonalds (you all know the one on San Juan and Madison!); Jack-In-The-Box; Arby's (the very best place to work and great people too!).
Receptionist at Marubeni; Nichiman; Palmeiri Company; Dav-Tech; Stoorza Ziegaus Metzger & Boyer.
Administrative Assistant with a doctor at Cedars Hospital; Moss Adams, 6 years with the Royalty Compliance Division, and two more as a File Coordinator/Purchasing Agent. Currently I am very happy at MGG & A an accounting firm in Century City, 3 years and counting.
I started Bartending classes with two friends but when they dropped out I lost my study partners. Once I move back to Sacramento, I am sure I will have plenty of volunteers! But the book is coming alone fine. I will let you know when I can add Paid Author to my resume.
