Sandra's Story
Midview, and then Ohio University:
The best thing about Jr. High was the marching band. I mean, how many jr. high schools have marching bands anyway?! Harry Pfinksten was an outstanding director and teacher of music appreciation. Going to the opera in Shaker Heights (I think...) for a field trip was fantastic. Gustav Holst and The Planets played by 13 yr. old kids!
And Mr. Richard Kurth, French teacher, got our class penpals from France. I have been writing her since 8th grade; finally met her 45 years later when I went to France just for that reason.

he only dorm like that on campus. Older than the hills around it, almost! Only girls lived in this dorm. I remember hanging out the window to talk to the boys who lived in the private houses on the alley behind the dorm. There were floods in the spring, with the golf course totally underwater. And sometimes even Grosvenor Hall with water to the first floor. Guess Athens is one of the few towns who moved their section of the river. How about taking the cafeteria trays on snowy days so you could slide down the sidewalk from the main campus to Jefferson Hall? What a ride!
Good memories.
