Sandra's Story
Life
My Spouse
I met my spouse at a counseling workshop. During the workshop, he also was involved in music (which for me was mandatory). I had gotten permission to borrow a guitar during break time. When I went to get it, guess who was already using it? Boy, was I ticked. But later, it was all good!!
My Pets
Our cats are twins, smokey grey half Angora, and half Russian Blue. One is a very prissy Angora personality, and the other, though also a female, is very tomboyish, and does tricks!
My Kids
My 27 year old daughter, Heather, was married in April of 2000 to a man who has 2 half grown children, making us instant grandparents. Since their marriage, the courts awarded the kids father permanent custody of the children, who are doing very much better in their new setting. Heather graduated in 2002, with her AA degree. She worked at Paddock Pools for a number of years, and did medical billing at home, while taking classes. During the proceedings to get custody, Heather did a lot of research to help with the case. She enjoyed it so much that she has since completed a certificate course for Paralegal. In 2003, the marriag...Expand for more
e got ugly, so to survice, unfortunately, she had to get a divorce. She since joined the Air Force, which she had wanted to do before she met her husband, but had injured her knee. After an operation, and the change in marital status, she was able to join up. She has been there over a year, and has received many honors. She is now continuing her education in computer science, being a computer programmer with the Air Force.
My Job
I worked at Old America for 10 months until they went out of business, and at Michael's Arts & Crafts for 5+ years until Jan. 2004, doing picture framing. When Old America went out of business, I was pleased to win the bid on some top of the line framing equipment. It would cost thousands new, but I only had to pay about 10% of the new cost. I now enjoy having my own home business as a professional framer, which compliments my husband's business as a professional photographer. We are both working toward making these our full-time occupations, as we get nearer to retirement. To supplement my framing income, I work as a substute for Cigna Healthcare as a Patient Service Specialist, which I enjoy very much.
