Sandra's Story
Life
For 14 years I owned two wholesale and retail ceramic establishments in Iowa. I taught ceramics and sold greenware, paint & supplies wholesale and retail to high schools, colleges, hospitals, resthomes and other ceramic shops in a three state area. It was the easiest way to manage/own a business and raise 3 active boys at the same time. My oldest son, Todd, was terminally ill, and I didn't want the obligation to have to go to a job.
Then we moved to Breckenridge, Colorado for 4 years where I worked as a legal secretary, legal assistant, and finally paralegal. We also lived in Ft. Collins for 2 years when the boys, David & Steve, were attending Colorado State University. At Colorado State is where David met his future wife, Cindy.
I had been living and working in a legal firm in Fairfield, California for eleven years when seven years ago on 9/21/99 my son, David asked me to purchase a mortgage brokerage firm with him in Concord, CA. My present occupation is Vice President/CFO and owner of Ameriworld Mortgage, Inc. and World Estate Realty in Concord, Califo...Expand for more
rnia. David is the President and Steve is the Marketing Manager. We employ 45 loan officers and 6 realtors.
I live on a ranch north of Vacaville, CA which is about 40 miles north of San Francisco, 10 miles east of Napa Valley, and 40 miles south of Sacramento CA. We have black angus cattle, three horses, three miniature donkeys and 14 outside cats. Although my husband, Dan is a project manager with a construction firm he decided to plant Merlot grapevines, so we ended up in the wine business, Brokman Ranch & Vineyards. Steve designed, created and prints our label for Brokman Ranch and Vineyard.
Travel is my passion besides my two twelve year old twin granddaughters, Delaney and Madison and six year old grandson, Dawson.
Since I last edited my profile I am also an on-line travel agent. I call it Sun & Fun Tours & Travel. Travelling wholesale is better than retail. I'm still a partner with David with Ameriworld Mortgage, Inc. and World Estate Realty, but I was always one to diversify. I thought I might retire, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.
