Sandra's Story
I have been living in Oshawa since 1977 and met my husband the day I moved in to my apartment! We are very happily married - no kids, 1 cat.
Doug is quadriplegic (car accident in 1966). He was extremely active in the community, accumulating many awards including one that honoured him as one of Canada's 5 outstanding young Canadians in 1974. He helped to start Handi Transit in Durham Region and was General Manager from 1977 until his retirement in 1994.

esidential program for troubled kids in Nova Scotia, Durham House, the Canadian Mental Health Association (Public Education Coordinator for almost 16 years), and briefly coordinated Meals on Wheels for Oshawa.
I worked at Pickering Museum Village - my "creative retirement job for 10 years and I just loved it. I dressed in 1800's garb and tour kids throughout the village and have a super time doing it. I retired in the spring of 2014 s my husband's health was deteriorating.
I love travelling but it has been limited to North America and 1 trip to the U.K. More to come I hope!
Update - I lost my dear husband in July 2014.
