Sandra's Story

Life I've been living in Michigan since 1987 and working for the Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer since 1989. In my spare time I involve myself in political activities and civil rights work for the lgbt community. I'm two classes short of a paralegal degree. f directors of one civil rights organization -- It's Time Michigan! which is a branch of It's Time America! I have also been a member of the Lansing Equal Rights Task Force which worked on an equal rights ordiance. I now work with an organization called TransMich working on equal rights protection, hate crimes legislation and gaining equal access to medical coverage for minority groups.
