Sandra's Story
Life
So I never did finish out my time at SHHS, having left in my Junior year, but I always thought back on my years there and the people that I knew. I ran away from home and traveled across the country, mainly hitchhiking and getting rides from truckers until I met one who actually spent time to teach me how to drive and load, and I did that for about a year until I came back home and "turned myself in" to the juvenile authorities. I went back to school in an accelerated program and ended up getting my diploma in late 1977. I left home again soon after that and did more rambling around until I decided to join the Army in 1979. I spent 4 years in there as a radio operator and a truck driver, then moved on at the end of my term. I married a solider, but that didn't last long (6 months), so I married another *laughing* (and that lasted a year). I came back to California for a while and went back to...Expand for more
school at Goldenwest College and then Fullerton Junior College and got started in my Accounting career. Got married again and lived in Huntington Beach for a while, then moved out to Lake Havasu City, AZ where I was a member of the Search and Rescue unit there for about 10 years. Went back to school again and finally got AA degrees in Liberal Arts and English. Went on to ASU, got another divorce (after 12 years) and a Bachelors in English then kept heading East until I got to Florida. I've been here for almost 10 years now and while I've been through some jobs and some relationships I am now doing well. I Finally have made a good family for myself here and I am on a good path to my future. I'm so glad to see some familiar faces here at SHHS, with some good memories and good stories to tell. I sure wish I could make the 30th reunion, but it doesn't seem likely. I'll have to see about the 40th. :D
