Sandra's Story
Life
My Spouse
George and I were married on June 12, 1976. He was diagnosed with cancer in November, 2007. After 35 radiation treatments and seven weeks of chemotherapy, he was clear of cancer. He was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat in January of 2008. After spending eight weeks in the hospital he was sent to rehab to regain his strength. There, he was allowed to fall resulting in a concussion and several fractured ribs. He was unable to recover from the resulting hemothorax and brain bleed and died August 11, 2008.
My Pets
I work with Chihuahua Rescue and Transport, a national organization, and currently have one chihuahua, Pop, a permanent foster and a toy fox terrier, BJ, both old and unadoptable.

e high school this year and will attend Hardin-Simmons in Abilene next fall, majoring in Physical Therapy. His younger brother, Blake, is 10. My son and his wife have three teenage daughters. The "M&M Twins," Morgan and Megan, are completing their freshman year in college and will be home for the summer. Their little sister, Lauren, will finish her junior year in high school this month.
My Job
I retired in 2007 to care for George, and decided to stay retired after he died. I always wanted to be a concert pianist when I "grew up". My family and friends thought that was a an impossible dream. As it turns out, they were right.
My current age is 65. Really quite shocked that I am so old..... I am actually eligible to attend activities at our local Senior Citizens Center! My goodness!
