Sandra's Story
Life
i live on 3 acres on the outskirts of vancouver, b.c. nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains. i moved to b.c. in 1980 and love living on the west coast. i developed a diversified business background in sales and administration prior to returning to university. i received my bachelor of arts in social services, MH. PhD and am a certified clinical hypnotherapist. i run my own business, mountain hypnotherapy and wellness retreat. i am also a reiki practitioner. because i have been so blessed with abundance, i feel it is important for me to make a positive contribution. i have an interest in the environment and have developed a natural product line called earth angel oasis which includes skin care (hemp, mango, botanical etc), soaps, aromatherapy, candles and cleaners. i am an avid outdoors person and love camping, mountain hiking and ocean-fishing off the queen charlotte islands. i don't think i have ever slept as well as when i am on a fishing vessel. i have a large garden and grow much of my own organic food. i also enjoy making jams and canning. i am blessed with two loving children (ages 25/23) and a wonderful life partner, Dan. He works as a drilling fluids engineer on the oil rigs, so I have been able to travel throughout b.c., northwest territories, alberta, kansas, wyoming, texas, colorado. yes...i have actually been north of 60...lol. what a thrill to see a herd of wild bison wandering down the road. ...Expand for more
another wonderful experience of the north is seeing the northern lights dance overhead on a cold winter night. i remember the first time i saw them, we were on a deserted highway coming back from a rig at around 12:30 am. it was around -30C and pitch black. we had just passed a herd of cariboo and all of a sudden the whole sky lit up above us. we pulled over, i got out of the truck and just stared at them in awe. they danced overhead all the way to fort nelson. it is an experience one cannot begin to do justice with words. they are absolutely breathtaking. my latest adventure is raising purebred doberman pinschers showdogs. my foundation dog has just been spayed after producing 3 litters. many of her offspring are already canadian champions and we anticipate quite a few more will be entering the showring in 2008. i am very grateful to have been afforded such a full life. not that there haven't been bumps and turbulence along the way...well maybe they were monster potholes...but i have found those challenges taught me the most, helped me to gain strength of character and caused me grow as a person. that being said...i think it sucks that what causes us the most pain is what forces us to grow the most. what is up with that????? something is wrong with this picture...if anyone has the answer let me know. anyways, all the best everyone. i always look forward to hearing from former classmates so drop me an email.
