Sandra's Story
Life
I worked for 7 years doing electornics and assembly jobs before I decicded to go to college. I graduated MCC in 1989 with an AD as an RN. I got married in 1987 to Mike Miller. He is from Burlington Ma. I met him through a friend of a friend after he got out of the Navy.
We started a family in 1990 with out first son Brian. At the time I was working at LGH. In 1992 we had double trouble with the birth of twin boys Patrick and Timothy. We lived in Lowell at the time. I started trying different nursing fields. I have done dialysis, home health care and even worked at the prison in Shirley Ma. for almost a year. Saw a few people I new would end up in prison too. I am now working in a nursing home on a dementia unit. I am thinking about changing fields again or even getting out of nursing all together.
We moved to NH in 1999 after the birth of our 4th son Thomas. A suprise who was named buy his brothers. The older three boys all have ADHD. The youngest doesn't. It has been so much easier raising him than the others. I have contributed to a book that was published in New Zealand...Expand for more
titled Lessons From My Child. I wrote about what it was like raising boys with ADHD It is now available in the states through the major book chains.
My sister Gina, married since before leaving Billerica high school to the guy who kidnapped her out of students in the law class:) She has 4 kids Kenny, Kelli, Kevin and AJ. All great kids. All now out of high school. Kevin is in a band called The Third Life which is doing well and has played often at the Billerica Coffee Emporium.
My brother Mark Grad 1982 is a career Marine. He is stationed in Iraq currently and is a Captain. He has three wonderful daughters and a great wife. They are currently based in NC. The last duty station was Hawaii where I got to visit kids and all. Great 5 week vacation that I could not have done without him there to visit and help with military discounts. Hunanma bay is the best place to get close to nature.
Someday I'll make it back there. The air is so clean and fragrant it is a Paradise. When returning to Boston I realized
how much I wanted to go back. It took me a week to get use to the odor!
