Sandy's Story
Life
I thought I was going to be an English teacher....but far from it! Quit U of T after a year and worked at the airport in freight forwarding for 5 years. Moved to Bruce County to live with my sailor (on boat in the summer) and joined Ontario Hydro as a clerical temp. Weary of typing after a few years and went back to school at night to get a Stationary Engineer's ticket and got a job as an Operator. Had two beautiful daughters. Sailor and I split up when kids in kindergarten. Started playing music (keyboard) for fun with friends. Company sent me to Antarctica, then South Africa ...Expand for more
and travelled around Ontario doing environmental presentations. Starting seeing a great guy (bass player) and we will build a retirement love nest when my kids are done high school in a couple of years.
The most exciting thing (so far) that I have done in my life is the adventure I had when British Energy/Bruce Power sent me to participate in an environmental cleanup at King George Island on the Antarctic peninsula and then sail back to South America on a 67-foot sailboat. Then to the Joburg Summit in 2002. I have videos posted on youtube.com under my name missantarctica5. Cheers!
