Almost Everything You Wanted To Know I have made wishes on falling stars, Chased after storms, Raced really fast cars, I have looked at the moon, But never been to space, Flown in an airplane, And rode on a train, Been to hundreds of concerts, big and small, Even been backstage once or twice, I’ve fought forest fires, And chopped down trees, Seen two oceans, And a couple of Seas, Swam in the Gulf, Been to Mexico and Canada and 19 states, Hiked parts of The Pacific Crest Trail, And the Columbia River Gorge, Tromped through the Mojave Desert and Death Valley, Fished under the Golden Gate Bridge, Never had a speeding ticket, Even though I suffer from a severe case of “lead foot” disease, I have been in love, Had a few broken hearts, given a couple, too, Even been kissed, once or twice, I’ve taken a cruise to Alaska, And walked on a glacier, Swam with a sea turtle in Hawaii, Walked behind a waterfall in Oregon, two actually, I love the smell of gasoline, And used engine oil, the new stuff just isn’t the same, And I’m not afraid to get dirt under my nails, I’ve had a manicure but I can find better things to do with my time, I’ve been to football, baseball and basketball games, I have season tickets to the 49ers and sometimes wonder why, I used to be a great shortstop, I’m a very accurate shot at 100 yards, And can track, hunt, skin and cook a deer, Seen Yosemite and Disneyland, Disneyworld, too, Never been to New York City, and don’t want to, Big cities are okay to visit, but I hate to live there, I like to go camping in the snow, I have never been arrested, at least I’ve never been caught, But I had the privilege of spending the night on San Quentin Prison grounds when my car broke down, I know the difference between a reciprocating saw and a miter saw, And know how to use both, I usually only drink when I want to get drunk, I don’t like rap music or even hip-hop, I like to go the bar and shoot pool, I believe whole-heartedly that golf, like poker and competitive eating, Are games, but not sports, I’ve owned my own business, And my own home, I can fix and break my own computer, sometimes, I like to write poetry and songs, And do a pretty good job, I used to play the flute and tried the bass, And I can sing great, by myself, in the car only, I love to cook, ...Expand for more
