Sara's Story
A quick run down of what I've been up to since 1991: Went to U of I, Champaign-Urbana in 1991 and was a photography major for 2.5 years. Then thought, "what am I gonna do with THIS??" Met my now husband, Brad, then took a year off from U of I, worked part time and took general ed classes at a community college. Went back to school in the Quad Cities for my Associates in Nursing degree. Graduated in May 1996, got married in August 1996 and had our first baby girl in December 1997! In 1997 I went back to school at University of Il at Chicago to finish my Bachelor's in Nursing and finished in May 2000. Had baby girl #2 in January 2000. h of college yet, so decided to become a OB/GYN nurse practitioner. Went BACK to the University of Illinois at Chicago and finished my master's degree in Women's Health in December 2002 and had a baby boy the week after I graduated!
I have worked in Freeport, Il (near Rockford) since 2003 in a private practice with another OB/GYN (who delivered all my kids) and love my job. My husband farms and we now have 4 children (girl #3 was born in 2005).
For fun, I have been running the past 2 years and do a lot of the local 5-K's and even ran a half marathon Fall 2007! Still play in a volleyball league once/week and played softball until last year when I started spending 4 nights/week at a ball diamond watching my oldest girls play! softball!
